This full-day itinerary maximizes time on the mountain with early start for best weather and wildlife activity. Steady pace with breaks for photos and rest.
Pickup from Moshi hotel ~07:00–08:00 (Arusha earlier). Scenic drive (~1 hour) to Marangu Gate (1860m) for registration and briefing.
Begin hike through montane forest trail: gentle at first, then steady uphill. Spot colobus monkeys, birds and unique plants.
Hike ~3-4 hours to Mandara Hut (2700m): possible Maundi Crater detour for views. Enjoy picnic lunch at hut or scenic spot – relax, take photos and feel the altitude.
Guides monitor acclimatization; enjoy forest canopy and possible summit glimpses if clear.
