This extended itinerary provides excellent acclimatization with gradual daily gains. Trek "pole pole" (slowly slowly), stay hydrated, and enjoy the stunning scenery along one of Kilimanjaro's most beautiful routes.
Pick-up from Moshi hotel, drive to Londorossi Gate for registration. Enter rainforest trail to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Forest Camp. Relax and acclimatize.
Ascend through moorland to Shira Plateau – vast open views of Kibo. Gentle walk with stunning scenery and good acclimatization.
Short trek across Shira Plateau to Shira 2 Camp. Extra time for altitude adjustment with optional side hikes for views.
Climb to Lava Tower (acclimatization high point), then descend to Barranco Camp via the scenic "Breakfast Wall". Dramatic views.
Iconic scramble up Barranco Wall (not technical), then descend into Karanga Valley and ascend to Karanga Camp.
Short but steep climb to Barafu Camp ("Reunion Rock"). Rest afternoon, early dinner, prepare for summit night.
Midnight start for summit push (6–8 hours up). Reach Stella Point/Gilman's, then Uhuru Peak sunrise. Descend to Mweka Camp.
