This 6-day group-joining itinerary offers a relaxed pace, covering Tarangire and Ngorongoro Crater with shared 4×4 vehicle and professional guide. Daily game drives maximize wildlife viewing.
Meet your guide and fellow group members at your Arusha/Moshi hotel (or airport) around 08:00. Drive to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2–3 hours).
Afternoon game drive en route to your lodge/camp. Tarangire is famous for huge elephant herds, giant baobabs and excellent dry-season wildlife viewing along the river.
Early morning game drive (06:00–10:00) – best time for predators and birds. Return to camp/lodge for breakfast and rest during the heat. Afternoon game drive (15:00–18:30).
Explore deeper into Tarangire – look for lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and massive elephant families. The riverine areas are particularly rich in wildlife.
Final morning game drive in Tarangire to catch anything missed. Breakfast at camp/lodge, then drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area (approx. 3–4 hours).
Afternoon descend into the Ngorongoro Crater – a natural wonder with the highest concentration of Big Five in Africa. Look for black rhinos, lion prides, elephants, buffaloes and flamingos on Lake Magadi.
Early descent into the crater for a full day of game viewing (06:00–17:00 with picnic lunch). Explore different sectors – look for black rhinos, big cats, hippos, hyenas and vast herds of wildebeest and zebra.
Picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the crater. Return to the rim in the late afternoon for sunset views over the caldera.
Morning game drive in the crater or nearby areas (depending on previous sightings). Breakfast, then depart Ngorongoro.
Afternoon transfer through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with possible game viewing. Overnight in a comfortable lodge near Tarangire or Mto wa Mbu area.
Early morning game drive in Tarangire or nearby area to catch any missed species. Breakfast at lodge, then scenic drive back to Arusha or Moshi with lunch en route.
